SPEAKOUT

Just don't care anymore

I am an older woman and I used to work at the shoe factory in Sikeston. We got paid by the piece, by how many pieces of product we put out per hour. Wouldn't it be great if that's the way all businesses would do now? They could pay according to how many customers they helped, how many calls they took, how many greetings and smiles given to each that came in the door. If that were the case, I bet some of these long lines and waiting times would get shorter and some of those &$#* cell phones would be put away. If you are wondering what's wrong with the economy, take a look around at how customers are being treated. I don't know about you, but if somebody acts like they don't care if I'm there or not, I'm usually not.

Saved my life

This speakout piece is to my guardian angels on Kathleen Street, the ones that came to my rescue. I would like to thank all of them for saving my life and helping get me to the hospital. I just want to thank them very much.

Feel your pane

I was wondering what Sikeston is going to do. The one glass company we had, the man passed away. The other glass company, they retired. So we have nowhere in Sikeston to get windows replaced. Can you please comment on this?

Don't need you here

This is the Pharris Ridge neighborhood in New Madrid County. I just want to say we don't need a welfare house out here or a crack house.

Which side are you on?

I would like to speakout on the retired police officer that had been a police officer for 37 years. He knew what side he carried his pistol on and which side he carried his stun gun on. I think he did that intentionally. I would like to hear people comment on that.
