BONNE TERRE -- Jumping out on top early the Sikeston Bulldogs rolled to a 12-4 win over North County on Wednesday in their final game of the regular season.

After back-to-back one run innings the Bulldogs broke out for four run in the third to go up 6-0.

A five-run rally in the top of the fourth gave Sikeston its biggest lead of the contest, 11-0, before North County finally got on the board with four runs in the bottom of the frame.

Sikeston outhit North County 15-7 with Audie Hay, Colton Hampton collected three hits each. Both Hay and Hampton doubles while scoring two runs apiece.

Trey Smith and Cody Rodgers each had two hits, including a double by Rodgers while Blake Wolferding hit a triple.

Sebastian Matos earned the win with 3 1/3 innings of work where he allowed one earned run on four hits and four walks while striking out two.

Now at 14-10, Sikeston will play Cape Central (12-11) in the opening round of the Class 5, District 1 Tournament at noon in Farmington.

__Poplar Bluff 9, Oran 3__

ORAN -- A late three-run rally wasn't enough for host Oran Wednesday as they fell to Poplar Bluff 9-3.

The Mules (17-5) took the lead with a two-run rally in the top of the second inning and never looked back. Already ahead 4-0 to open the sixth the Mules broke the game open with five runs to go up 9-0 entering the seventh.

Oran (13-5) scored three runs in the bottom of the last frame, but couldn't finish closing the gap.

Clay Sauceda led the Eagles with a 2 for 3 effort that included a double and three runs-batted-in. Hunter Schlosser doubled and Preston Hahn collected a single.

Oran hosts Kennett tomorrow at 4 p.m.

__Kelly 16, Meadow Heights 3__

BENTON -- An eight-run rally in the third highlighted a big 16-3 win by Kelly over Meadow heights on Wednesday.

The two teams were knotted at 3-3 when the Hawks (12-15) went on an out-run outburst in the bottom of the third inning to go ahead 11-3. Five more runs in the fourth ensured a mercy-rule finish for Kelly.

Levi Alsup picked up the win with a complete game effort where he gave up seven hits, two walks and struck out three.

Alsup, Kyle Fitzgerald, Ty Householder and Mitchell Proctor collected a two hits each, including triples by Alsup and Householder.

DEXTER -- The Dexter boys tennis team beat Notre Dame 5-0 in the Class 1, District 1 championship Wednesday at Dexter.

This is Dexter's first district championship since 2005.

Dexter will host St. Mary's May 23 during the Class 1 sectional round at Dexter High School.
