BOLIVAR -- Sikeston senior Gabe Wheeler finished the Class 3 state golf tournament tied for fifth Tuesday at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar earning him all-state honors.

The four-time state qualifier finished with a 150 during the two-day event after shooting a 76 the first day and 74 Tuesday.

Wheeler, a senior, finished three strokes back of the co-champions Michael O'Keefe from MICDS and Brett Windsor from Boonville who each shot 147's on the par-72 course.

As a team, Sikeston finished last out of eight teams with a combined score of 722. Senior Blake Below tied for 65th with a 171 (82-89) and Clark Atchison, another senior, tied for 68th with a 172 (85-87). Freshman Luke Blanton shot a 228 (116-113) for 95th.

Pembroke Hill won the team championship with a 617.

Dexter junior Ethan Stevens tied for 23rd after finishing with a 159 (76-83).
