41st annual Sweetcorn Festival: Time to Tour De Corn and party on Main Street

EAST PRAIRIE -- The East Prairie Chamber of Commerce's 41st Annual Sweet Corn Festival is community effort to host a great weekend.

Weekend events kick off with the Main Street Party from 5:30-9:30 p.m. June 26.

"Friday, 'Meet Me on Main Street' is the theme for our Main Street Party brought to you by our Downtown Revitalization Committee," said Cyndi Norton, director of the East Prairie Chamber of Commerce. "Saturday June 27 is our Tour de Corn Bike Ride and Sweetcorn Festival and then Sunday 28 is the East Prairie Chamber of Commerce Annual Fish Fry, so it's a whole weekend of stuff."

Live music will be at both ends of Main Street June 26, Norton said.

At the downtown gazebo, Libby Cates of East Prairie will open with a performance from 5:30- 6 p.m. followed by the Church of God Men's Trio who will sing until about 6:30 p.m.

From 6:30-7:15 p.m., The Brass Ensemble will offer their big band jazz sounds followed by the more jazz from the Jerry Ford Orchestra from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
