No Friday edition will be published due to holiday

SIKESTON -- The Standard Democrat will not publish a paper Friday in observance of Independence Day, and the offices will be closed.

However, the Standard Democrat's Weekender edition will be delivered on Friday to enable the newspaper's carriers to enjoy the July 4th holiday.

The Standard-Democrat's online news site will be posted with any breaking news during the holiday and can be checked out at www.standard-democrat.com

The newspaper's offices will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
