SIKESTON -- Sikeston's new Depot director "jumped in running" to put the Cowboy UP! Arts Festival on in Downtown Sikeston and now is ready to dig into -- and present -- local history.

"I think the event went rather well -- we had beautiful day for it," said Marla Moore, director, of this year's festival. "And I I learned some things that I can put into effect next year."

Moore started as the Depot's new director in May.

"It feels like it was a long time ago, but I know it wasn't," she said. "The Depot presents Cowboy UP! so it falls on the director and the office manager to do the whole event. Some of the groundwork had already been done but there was still a lot to do."

In addition to putting on the annual Rodeo themed event, Moore also had to get up to speed on requirements for the Depot's Missouri Arts Council grant.
