Charleston DPS investigates shooting; two people injured

Victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries but neither is 'cooperating with the investigation'
CHARLESTON -- Police are investigating a weekend shooting that injured two early Sunday in Charleston.
About 3:30 a.m Sunday, officers with the Charleston Department of Public Safety were advised of shots fired in the area of Tenth and Helena streets, according DPS Director Robert E. Hearnes. Officers discovered two people who had been shot. The victims, ages 17 and 23, both of Charleston, were transported to area medical facilities for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
"Neither victim is cooperating with the investigation at this time," Hearnes said.
