BENTON -- A Morley man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly punching his girlfriend.

Timothy Q. Ingram Sr, 52, of Morley is charged with the Class C Felony of Domestic Assault.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said on Sunday the Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic assault at 405 Marquand in Morley.

"Deputies spoke with the victim who stated she had been in an argument with her live-in boyfriend, Ingram," the sheriff said. "The victim said she was sitting in a chair, and Ingram approached her, grabbed her by the hair and drug her down the hallway. The victim attempted to get away from Ingram, and Ingram then struck her in the eye and mouth with his fist."

The victim had swelling to her right eye and upper lip, and her right wrist had a small scratch, according to Walter.

When Ingram was questioned about the assault, he said he never assaulted her; Ingram said the victim punched herself, Walter said.

Ingram was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County jail where he was booked, pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Ingram remained in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $1,500 cash and no contact with the victim.
