Labor Day weekend was not a weekend of rest for the Portageville Lady Dawg Softball Team. They played in the three- day Notre Dame Softballfest. "This tournament always has good competition throughout, and this year was some of the best," said Portageville coach, Ashlie Patton. Thursday night was the beginning of their weekend journey. They first met Notre Dame JV. After being defeated the week before by Notre Dame's varsity, Portageville knew they had to start with setting the bar high. With a combination of 3 for 4 from Taylor Tiffany, 3 for 5 from Kelsi Miller and 2 for 3 from Savannah Lovins, Portageville beat Notre Dame JV 6-0. Along with those hits, Mikayla Rone had 2 walks and Kelsi Miller had 4 out of the 6 RBIs. Tiffany struck out 17 out of 24 batters which gave her the win over Notre Dame JV.
