Sikeston hires new Parks and Recreation director

SIKESTON - A new Parks and Recreation director will be on board by Dec. 1.

Dustin Care of Bonner Springs, Kan., has accepted the position of Sikeston Parks and Recreation director.

"Dustin Care is an experienced Parks and Recreation professional and we believe that our recreation community, including the ball leagues, will be very excited to work with him," said City Manager J.D. Douglass. "He will be a visible presence overseeing the Complex during sports seasons and will be a strong partner with the leagues."

Care, who has a bachelor's degree in Recreation and Park Administration from Western Kentucky University, is the recreation coordinator for Bonner Springs, where he has worked since 2004. From 2004 to 2007, he was a recreation assistant for the city of Goodlettsville, Tenn.
