Army Corps of Engineers will meet with public about rising Mississippi River
CHARLESTON - Southeast Missouri residents can receive a update on Mississippi River levels and plans for the levee in a public meeting today.
At 4 p.m. today, members of the Army Corps of Engineers will be at the Clara Drinkwater Library, 105 E. Marshall St. in Charleston. The meeting, organized by Congressman Jason Smith, will enable residents to speak directly with the Army Corps officials.
In addition to Smith, attending the meeting will be Major General Michael Wehr, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division; Colonel Jeff Anderson, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division; Sam E. Angel, Mississippi River Valley Commission; and Norma Jean Mattei, Mississippi River Valley Commission.
