CLARKTON, Mo. -- A Scotty Allen hook shot from block with 15 seconds left lifted the Clarkton Reindeer over the visiting Holcomb Hornets 81-79 on Senior Night Thursday.
"It's good to see a good team win like this where everybody that played contributed in one way or another," said Clarkton coach Jordan Bidewell. "Scotty Allen ended up answering the call when he was needed, knocking down the game winner."
Freshman Lee Matney led Clarkton with 24 points including finishing 10 of 15 from the free throw line. Emanuel White finished with 15 points while Layne Morgan added 12.
"It's always good to send your seniors off with a win but Lee Matney played a great ball game," Bidewell said. "He definitely didn't look like a freshman tonight."
Jordan Massey led Holcomb (3-19) with 31 points while Pearson McClendon and Johnny Maynard added 12 and 11 points respectively.
Clarkton (7-16) will play Delta C-7 in a Class 1, District 1 game at 8 p.m. Monday in Gideon, Mo.

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- The Bloomfield Wildcats ended the regular season on a high note, dispatching the visiting Twin Rivers Royals.
Bloomfield (23-3) held a slim 42-39 but hit 6 of 9 free throws down the stretch in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
"Really good win for us tonight against a good Twin Rivers team that's well coached and has been playing well down the stretch," Bloomfield coach Jason Karnes said. "Our guys really battled the second half and rose to the occasion on both ends to come away with the good win. I'm glad we could send this great group of seniors out with a win on their last home game."
Noah Vandiver finished with a game-high 23 points to lead the Wildcats while Alex Gibbs and Peyton Bell finished with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Andrew Mittelstadt finished with 14 to lead Twin Rivers (16-9) and Chance Wilkerson added 12.

Ashlyn McIntosh finished with a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and also had four steals for Oran (21-3, 7-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference), which held a commanding 41-point lead at halftime.
