Sikeston High School seniors honored by SHS/SPS Foundation in February

SIKESTON -- Sarah Elizabeth Martin and Joseph Tucker Hunter were named Sikeston High School Students of the Month for February.

Sikeston Public Schools Foundation, which sponsors the monthly program, names a male and female senior each month. Character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholastic ability are criteria used to select one "Student of the Year" at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

Martin is the daughter of Tim and Kellie Martin. She is the vice president of the National Honors Society, Red Pepper officer, head cheerleader and participates in DECA, FTA, cadet teaching and varsity track and field. Her hobbies include cheering, jumping in track, hunting, attempting to draw and singing loudly in the car.

Hunter, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hunter, is a member of DECA, FBLA, FTA, National Honors Society and St. Francis Xavier Church. He attended Missouri Boys State and is a registered and licensed pharmacy technician. He enjoys snow skiing, traveling with family, attending concerts, going to the movies, reading, spending time with family and friends and duck hunting.
