Layne Johnson suffered the loss on the mound for Oran (3-6). He pitched five innings and gave up four runs (one earned) on six hits. He had six strikeouts and walked three batters.

Bailey Cook was the winning pitcher. He threw four innings and allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Ian Torrey got the save, pitching the final three innings in which he gave up no runs on two hits and recorded four strikeouts and one walk.

Connor Barham hit a triple and had two RBIs to lead Portageville (7-6).

Blake Beacham picked up the win on the mound for Bernie (10-1). He pitched 5 2/3 innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits. He had one strikeout and walked one batter. Owen Foster got the save, throwing a no-hitter for the final 1 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking one.

Ajay Sager suffered the pitching loss for Charleston (8-7). He threw five innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits. He had two strikeouts and walked three batters.

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Trenton Gramlisch hit a double and drove in three runs as the Red Devils blistered the visiting Bobcats in the conference rout.

Lane Dunning pitched three innings to get the win for Chaffee (10-3, 4-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference). He gave up one hit and recorded six strikeouts and one walk.

A.J. Owens got on base both of his times at bat and added four RBIs for the Red Devils.

David Taylor went the distance to sustain the loss. He allowed 10 earned runs, struck out two and walked four batters.

Austin White had the lone hit for Delta (0-11, 0-4).

DEXTER, Mo. -- Chaylea Mosby belted a home run and drove in two runs to lead the Bearcats to victory over the visiting Blue Jays.

Alexis Tankersley got the win in the circle for Dexter (4-9). She pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits. She struck out five and walked no batters.

Madyson McDermott went the distance to take the loss. She allowed 10 unearned runs and recorded 12 strikeouts and walked three batters. She also hit a triple, a double and drove in four runs to pace Charleston (2-7).

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Kaitlyn Barnes finished 4 for 4 with a double and Monica Davis added three hits with a double and two RBI in New Madrid County Central's road rout over East Prairie.

Chelsea Sylvester added two hits, including a double, and three RBI while Jordan Allen hit another double with three RBI. Madison Bond also had two hits for NMCC (7-2).

East Prairie (4-2) had five singles and scored its lone run in the fourth inning.

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The Chaffee girls track team won its home open Tuesday by 181 points.

The Red Devils scored a whooping 242 points. Saxony Lutheran and Scott City tied for second with 61. Scott County Central came in fourth with 41.

Woodland won the boys side with 158. Scott City was second with Saxony Lutheran in third.

JV BASEBALL

Sikeston 4, Dexter 2

Jeffery Thornbrough threw the win as Sikeston's junior varsity baseball team came out on top on the road.

Thornbrough went six innings allowing two runs on five hits and three walks with striking out three. Nate Self earned the save with a perfect seventh inning.

Trace Wheatley added two doubles at the plate while Self smacked a double as well for Sikeston (4-3). Ethan Russell, Ben Ray and Andrew Crumley chipped in singles.
