SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man faces assault charges after allegedly fracturing another man's jaw and breaking his ribs.

Terry L. Golden Jr., 19, is charged with felony first degree assault, according to Missouri Case.net.

About 4:55 p.m. April 6, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in reference to threats, according to the probable cause affidavit provided by Scott County prosecutor's office.

Officers spoke with the male victim who was seeking treatment and told them at about 2 p.m. April 1, he went to a residence in the 400 block of Jackson Street to make a rent payment. While at the residence, the victim said Golden approached him and struck him in the left side of the face with what he believed to be a closed fist, according to the affidavit. The man said he then lost consciousness, and he believed the assault occurred because he owes Golden money. The man also told police Golden had been continually harassing him about the unpaid debt.
