SIKESTON -- A Sikeston woman was arrested Tuesday after attempting to stab a man with a silver rod with a knife attached to the end.

About 2 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to a residence in the 800 block of Davis Street in reference to a call about a disturbance with a weapon, according to DPS incident reports. Officers were advised that a female was trying to stab a male victim.

"When an officer arrived, he observed a female carrying a metal rod with a knife on the end and chasing a male on the second floor walkway of the apartment, running from the female," said Capt. Bill Mygatt with Sikeston DPS.

When the woman ignored the officer's orders to drop and get to the ground, the officer reached for the weapon and kicked it away, Mygatt said. The female was placed in handcuffs, but reportedly actively struggled and ended up receiving a dry stun.

According to online court records, Jessica Lee Nole is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and resisting/ interfering with arrest for a felony. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.
