CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. - A woman is facing multiple charges after attacking a man with a claw hammer.

On Tuesday, Caruthersville Police officers responded to a report of domestic violence at a residence in the 100 block of Midtown. According to Caruthersville Police Chief Tony Jones, officers observed a woman walking through the apartment complex carrying a claw hammer.

"After securing both the hammer and the female subject, officers located the victim, Marvin Jackson II of Caruthersville," Jones said in a news release.

The 46-year-old woman was then arrested and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center, where she is being held pending the filing of formal charges of first degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
