CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Morgan Merrill had 10 aces and three kills while Annie Ensor added eight aces and 10 assists during Sikeston volleyball's 25-7, 25-11 win over Charleston on the road Monday.

Morgan Poindexter had three kills and two aces, Zaria Blissett chipped in three kills and Olivia Nash and Emily McHaffie each added two kills each.

Sikeston improved its overall record to 7-7 and 3-2 in the SEMO Conference. Charleston fell to 1-12 and bumped down to 0-3 in the conference.

Sikeston and Charleston will both have another chance to get a conference win today when the Blue Jays travel to Scott City and the Bulldogs host Oran.

COOTER, Mo. -- The Bulldogs were able to bounce back after a loss in the second set to come away with the win on the road.

Portageville (13-7-2) will travel to New Madrid County Central tonight.

NEW MADRID, Mo. -- The Eagles were unable to finish after winning the first set in the three-set loss to the Mustangs.

ZALMA, Mo. -- The Bulldogs came away with their second win of the season in the narrow victory over the visiting Eagles.

Zalma's record now stands at 2-10-3 while Oran remains at 4-7-1.

__Jackson 10, Sikeston 1__

JACKSON, Mo. -- Tyeshia Mitchell blasted a solo home run to score the lone run for the Bulldogs in the conference loss to the Indians at Jackson City Park.

Kylie Noe tossed one inning to be marked with the pitching loss for Sikeston (8-5). She gave up five earned runs on four hits and walked three batters.

Sophie Wunderlich went the distance in the circle to get the win for Jackson (8-4). She allowed one earned run and recorded seven strikeouts.

Sikeston hosts Neelyville today.

NEELYVILLE, Mo. -- Carlie Milz hit a double and drove in two runs as the Red Devils scored two runs in the seventh inning to break the tie and held the host Tigers scoreless in the final inning to get the victory.

Kylie Wilhite hurled five innings to take the pitching win for Chaffee (7-4). She gave up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and had four strikeouts. Milz got the save, tossing the final two innings for the Red Devils.

Natalie Flanigan tossed a whole game to sustain the loss for Neelyville (3-8). She allowed six earned runs and recorded four strikeouts and four walks for the Tigers.

Chaffee returns to Butler County today to resume a weather-delayed game with Van Buren at Three Rivers Community College (TRCC) in Poplar Bluff.

Sikeston improved to 2-8 on the season while Charleston dropped to 1-7.

The Bulldogs will host Fredericktown and Charleston hosts Caruthersville both today.

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- The Cubs needed two extra innings to hold off a determined Wildcats squad but got things done in the final inning to remain undefeated in the road win.

Cole Nichols pitched five innings to get the win for Bell City (11-0). He allowed one earned run on two hits and recorded 11 strikeouts and one walk for the Cubs.

Tim Hector suffered the loss, lasting 2 1/3 innings on the mound for Bloomfield (10-4). He gave up three runs (one earned) on three hit and had five strikeouts.

Bloomfield visits Bernie on Thursdsay while Bell City hosts Egyptian (Tamms, Ill.) today.

Corbin Hunt went the distance to take the pitching win for Bernie (11-4). He gave up one earned run and recorded eight strikeouts and one walk.

Tristan Graham suffered the loss on the mound for Leopold (1-4). He pitched a complete game and allowed four earned runs, struck out four and walked two.

Simon Elfrink and Blake Leazenby each had a hit, with Leazenby driving in the lone run for the Wildcats.

Bernie hosts South Pemiscot today.

__Sikeston 20, Dexter 6__

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Quarterback Gage Rolwing tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another during Sikeston's home win over Dexter.

Rolwing broke a scoreless tie after the first quarter when he found BJ hill for a 66-yard score. Later Rolwing hooked up with Hayden Alcorn from 25 yards out and followed it with a 2-point pass to Trent Elliot for a 14-0 lead at the half.

After the Bearcats scored in the third quarter, Rolwing ran for a 5-yard score in the fourth to make up the final.
