CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The Chaffee Red Devils used a strong second half to dispatch visiting Principia 50-15 Friday night in Chaffee.
Chaffee held a slim 14-8 lead at halftime, but exploded for 21 third quarter points and 15 in the fourth quarter to improve to 3-4 on the season.
"We were flat early on but in the second half we came out and did what we needed to do," said Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery.
Chaffee sophomore quarterback Landon Tenkhoff had a stellar night, rushing for 258 yards on 27 carries with five touchdowns. He also was 8 of 18 passing for 110 yards, completing four passes to Dalton Wilson for 80 yards and two passes to Josh Statler for 24 yards.
Running back Uzziah Beggs gained 116 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns as Chaffee rushed for 467 yards and had a total of 577 yards.
The Chaffee defense held Principia to 47 rushing yards and 151 total yards.
