CLARKTON, Mo. -- Nathan Burnett poured in a game-high 39 points to lead Risco to its first Clarkton Holiday Tournament championship since 2011 during a 62-61 overtime win over South Pemiscot Friday in Clarkton, Mo.
Second-seeded Risco trailed by as many as 11 in the fourth quarter before they rallied to tie the game at 52-all at the end of regulation.
The Tigers trailed by one when Burnett, who scored 20 points throughout the fourth quarter and overtime, put the Tigers (8-2) ahead with two free throws in the last 30 seconds.
The third-seeded Bulldogs, who defeated No. 1 St. Louis Christian to make the title game, had a chance to win with 10 seconds remaining but its last-second basket was not delivered before the final buzzer sounded.
"I'm really proud of our guys," Risco coach Brandon Blankenship said. "I've got a great group of guys and I'm just really proud of the way they played tonight, especially on the defensive end."
South Pemiscot was led by Michael Smith's 20 points. Kevin Burton added 10.

Landon Tenkhoff drained a game-high 20 points as the Red Devils roasted the winless Tigers at home.
Gabe Henson netted 19 points for Chaffee (2-6, 1-1 Mississippi Valley Conference), which stormed out to a 26-point lead at halftime and held the guests to single digits in each quarter.
Freshman Cody Bailey scored nine points to pace Marquand-Zion (0-6, 0-1).

Max Priggel recorded a game-high 23 points and had three steals as the host Eagles soared in the easy conference victory over the Bobcats.
Cole Priggel tallied 17 points and also had three steals for Oran (4-3, 2-1 Scott-Mississippi Conference), which maintained a 43-21 advantage at the break. Drew Reischman notched 16 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles.
Charlie Ledbetter, Eric Mitchell and Isaiah Thomas combined for half of the total team points with eight apiece for Delta (2-7, 0-3).
Both teams are now off until the opening round of the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament on Monday, Dec. 26. Ninth-seeded Oran has the last game of the night at 9 p.m. against eighth-seeded conference foe Scott City. The Eagles beat the Rams 69-63 last week.
