CHARLESTON, Mo. -- A Mississippi County man faces felony drug charges following a joint investigation by the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office, Charleston Department of Public Safety, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Frederick Amiel Evans, 43, of Charleston, is charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance.
According to Mississippi County Sheriff Cory Hutcheson, the investigation began last week when the Sheriff's Office received information that narcotics were being distributed from a residence in Charleston.
Throughout the week, authorities conducted surveillance on the home and developed probable cause to believe narcotics were being sold from the residence. On Friday, the Sheriff's Office obtained a search warrant for the home.
The search warrant was served Friday evening by the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office, along with officers from the Charleston DPS, ATF and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The search yielded a large amount of marijuana and synthetic cannabinoids, U.S. currency, and items indicative of drug distribution taking place from within the home.
Following the search, Evans was placed under arrest and transported to the Mississippi County Detention Center.
Evans was released from custody Saturday morning after posting $75,000 bond.
