PORTAGEVILLE- DAEOC Head Start/Early Head Start is hosting their annual book drive. It will take place during the month of March to recognize National Literacy Month. If you have new or gently used books for children ages 0-5 years old, please donate them. You may drop books off at Central Office or your local Head Start Center at any time.

Community members are encouraged to drop off books at one of the 17 DAEOC Head Start Centers in Southeast Missouri.

All donated books are used at the Lending Libraries in the Head Start/Early Head Start Centers. The lending libraries provide a source for children to borrow age appropriate books to take home to read and enjoy with their family without charge.

DAEOC is a not for profit community action agency whose services include operation of 17 Head Start Centers throughout the lower six counties of Southeast Missouri. Each Center relies on community involvement and volunteers in order to make all the Center activities a success.
