WYATT, Mo. -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting involving Mississippi County deputy.
Following a narcotics investigation conducted by the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department, deputies served a search warrant at a house in the 300 block of Pecan Street around 9 a.m. Friday, according to Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Clark Parrott.

"Deputies then returned fire, striking the suspect," Parrott said.
The injured suspect was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston then flown to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment. According to Parrott, the suspect is in critical but stable condition.
The deputy was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center where he underwent surgery. Parrott described the wound as non-life threatening.
