New Initiative Brings High Quality Internet to Rural Missouri Schools

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A new initiative, announced last week, will bring broadband internet access to over 100 rural Missouri schools that currently have no access to high speed internet. State Rep. Don Rone met with Governor Eric Greitens in Jefferson City to discuss the impact high quality internet access will have on our local schools.

This year’s state budget includes $6 million to support the effort, which gives Missouri access to $39 million in matching federal E-Rate funds. This covers the entire cost of bringing quality internet via fiber optic connections to every school in Missouri with no cost to the local school district.
