Joan Carolyn Foster, 74

Joan Carolyn Foster was born Nov. 16, 1942 in Charleston, W. Va., to Basil and Opal Green. She died Monday, March 27, 2017, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 11 days.

She was united in marriage to her husband of 54 years, Jimmy D. Foster, on March 1, 1961, in Chicago, Ill. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2015. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Basil and Opal Green, and one brother, Kenneth Green.

She was a member of St. Eustachius Catholic Church, where she was active with the Ladies Sodality. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but most of all going to have coffee at Katie’s Diner with her husband.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Mark Brands and Pamela Dee Foster all of Portageville; one brother, Basil Green of Clear Creek, W. Va.; her sister, Betty Freeman of Nitro, W. Va.; two grandsons, Jared (Andrea) Brands and Trevor Brands of Portageville; one great-granddaughter, Harper Lee Brands; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Services were conducted Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St Eustachius Catholic Church with Father Daniel Robles officiating.  Interment followed at the Portageville Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were: Jared Brands, Trevor Brands, Cody Foster, Jimmy Crawford, Myles Stafford, and Bradley Wallace.

DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville were in charge of arrangements.
