Claudette Gipson was born April 22, 1958 in Portageville, to Georgia Mae Steele and Thomas Minnis. She departed this life on April 3, 2017 in Portageville, at the age of 58 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Georgia Mae Steele and Thomas Minnis; and two brothers, Doyle Minnis and Movina Minnis.
Survivors include one daughter: Christina Gipson of Kansas City, Mo; four brothers: Thomas Minnis, Jr. of Hillsboro, Ore., Harvey Collier of Champaign, Ill., Gene Minnis of Davenport, Ohio, and Ronnie Minis of Lebanon, Tenn.; six sisters: Debra Norris, Carla Minnis, Barbara Minnis, and Connie Minnis, all of Portageville, Deloris Holloman of Springfield, and Valerie Drake of Nashville, Tenn.; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the DeLisle Funeral Home Chapel in Portageville.
Funeral services followed at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Reggie Grant officiating. Interment followed in the Portageville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were: Roudget Minnis, Elijah Holloman, Jamaica Smith, John Drake, and Alex Drake.
