SIKESTON -- Wyatt Pratt spun a gem for the Sikeston Bulldogs baseball team striking out seven during their 8-4 win over conference mate Kennett on Wednesday at home.

Pratt earned the win on the mound after six innings. He gave up three runs on five hits and walked four on 102 pitches. He also went 1 for 2 with two RBIs at the plate.

Noah Hick smacked a double and had three RBIs for Sikeston. Sam Cox and Trey Smith also added doubles.

Cox, Bryce Bays and Nate Self each had two hits for the Bulldogs, who have won their last four games.

Kennett (4-7, 2-2 conference) sprayed five hits through five different batters.

Brenton Tidd got the pitching loss after five innings of work. He gave up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and five walks while striking out two on 98 pitches.

Sikeston (8-2, 4-2 SEMO Conference) will be off until April 17 when they travel to Marion Co., Ill.

Junior varsity

Sikeston's junior varsity earned an 11-5 win over Kennett.

Ethan Russell had two doubles with five RBIs. Clark Steward also had two hits while Payton Howard and Andrew Crumley each added singles.

Trace Wheetley earned the pitching win for the Bulldogs, who are 5-1 on the season.

__Dexter 7, Chaffee 2__

DEXTER, Mo. -- The Bearcats put up four runs in their half of the first inning and never looked back during their home win over the Red Devils.

The Bearcats led 6-0 after four innings and was able to stave off Chaffee throughout.

Trevor McDonald, Spencer Owens and Hunter Parrott each had two hits for Dexter, who had nine as a team. Owens, Clay Mullins and Cordell Holt each had doubles as well.

McDonald got the pitching win after working the first three innings. He gave up just one hit during that stretch, walked four and struck out one on 69 pitches during his three scoreless frames.

Kris Rinehart finished off the final four innings giving up two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out two on 62 pitches.

Andrew Brown was tagged with six runs (two earned) through four innings on the mound for Chaffee. He walked three and struck out one on 82 pitches.

Brown, Landon Tenkhoff and T.J. Archer each had two hits and a double as well.

Dexter (5-5) will host SEMO Conference foe New Madrid County Central today.

Chaffee (10-3) will be on the road again today when they face Kelly.

BELL CITY, Mo. -- The Hawks had seven hits but were held scoreless against Austin Hicks and the defending Class 1 champion Cubs.

Kelly couldn't figure out Hicks, who struck out 13 and walked none in a complete game effort.

Wyatt Ledure went 2 for 3 for the Hawks.

Kyle Fitzgerald took the pitching loss after 5 2/3 innings. He allowed six runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out three.

Bell City (8-5) was led at the plate by Cole Nichols, who belted a solo home run in the first inning and went 3 for 4. Logan Yates added three hits as well.

Kelly (6-7) will host conference mate Chaffee today.

LEOPOLD, Mo. (SMNS) -- Jace Jansen went 2-for-4 and batted in two runs as the host Wildcats fell one run short in the loss at home in the catfight.

Ryan Lewis pitched 4 2/3 innings to sustain the loss for Leopold (5-6). He allowed eight earned runs on nine hits, struck out six and walked one.

Gage McNeil was the winning pitcher for Bloomfield (7-4-1). He had three strikeouts and no walks.

Timmy Hector blasted a two-run home run while Alex Gibbs hit a double and drove in four runs to lead the victorious Wildcats at the plate.

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. (SMNS) -- The Wildcats racked up 17 hits as they put away Bloomfield in six innings to remain undefeated on the season.

Beth Lincoln got another win in the pitcher's circle for Leopold (8-0) and also went 2-for-3 with a double in the batter's box.

Klara Beel went 4-for-4.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (SMNS) -- Kaylee Payne blasted a double and had five RBIs as the Eagles blanked the Hornets to remain undefeated in the win at the Southeast Softball Complex.

Payne also went the distance in the circle to take the win for Oran (13-0). She had nine strikeouts and walked three batters.

Leah Cauble added a triple and two RBIs for the Eagles.

Alli Johnson went 3 2/3 innings in the circle to sustain the loss for Advance (6-10). She allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits, walked seven batters and had no strikeouts.

DELTA, Mo. (SMNS) -- Sierra McCall and Cooper Simpson drove in three runs to lead the Bobcats to victory over the visiting Bravettes.

Coley Blattel was the winning pitcher and also had three RBIs for Delta (5-4). She allowed two earned runs, struck out five and walked two.
