NEW MADRID, Mo. -- A man is facing charges after allegedly shooting out a window of a vehicle.
Marcus A. Grandberry, 33, of New Madrid is charged with discharge/shoot firearm at or from a motor vehicle and armed criminal action. Charges were filed May 25 by New Madrid County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Lawson.
In the probable cause statement filed by New Madrid Police Officer B.J. Phillips, he said he was called to a residence on Blades Drive in reference to a window being shot out of a vehicle. At the scene Phillips said the victim stated he was walking to his truck when a car pulled up and stopped and a man, whom he identified as Grandberry, jumped from the vehicle, ran to the truck and fired a shot through the driver's side window.
At the scene, Phillips and a second New Madrid police officer located a bullet on the ground beside the truck. A shell casing was found in the bed of the truck.
Bond for Grandberry is set at $40,000 cash or surety, and as of Tuesday, he remained in custody at the Pemiscot County Jail.
