Derek Burch

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Derek Scott Burch, age 22, of Springfield, Mo., passed away at 10:55 a.m. Jan. 1, 2017, in Irvine, Calif., at Hoag Hospital after a battle with addiction.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Hiram Turner Burch Jr.; aunt, Laura Ann Civey; uncle, Dennis Ritch; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Civey, Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Gilman, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Burch Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Brasier.

Derek is survived by his mother, Anita Burch of Clever; father, Bruce Burch, and brother Ryan Burch, both of Springfield; maternal grandmother, Carolyn (Mrs. Calbert) Tiefenauer, Caledonia; maternal grandfather, Robert (Christine) Civey, Bonne Terre; paternal grandmother, Vivian Burch, Sikeston; uncles, Jason Civey, Desloge and Ronald (Lunell) Burch, Sikeston; aunt, Loretta Ritch, Dexter; cousins, Madeline and Andrew Civey, Desloge, Ronald (Martha) Burch Jr., Sikeston and Eric Ritch, Dexter.

Funeral services were held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield.
