James Nickell

SIKESTON - James Howard Nickell, 76, died Jan. 9, 2017, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 3, 1940, in Sikeston, son of the late James Henry and Emma Jane Martin Nickell, he was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, had worked for Peck's News Service for 26 years and at Tetra Pak for 19 years before retiring.

On May 25, 1969, at Sikeston, he married Carolyn Sue Wright, and she survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Chad Nickell of Sikeston.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, L.T. Nickell and Clyde Nickell; and one sister, Mary Dollar.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
