PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- Esther Cook Huffman, 84, died Jan. 13, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 10, 1932, in Hayleyville, Ala., daughter of the late Annie McDonald and John Vinyard McDonald, she was a member of the Bush Apostolic Church in Hayward.

She was first married to J.L. Cook, who preceded her in death in 1985. She later married James Huffman, who preceded her in death in 1995.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, JoAnne Weed on Nov. 8, 1991; four brothers, William "Bill" McDonald, Clarence McDonald, J.V. McDonald and Jess McDonald; and three sisters: Bonnie McCarter, Mildred Stewart and Nancy Kelly.

Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lonnie Wayne and Linda Cook of Hayti and Danny Paul Cook of Portageville; three daughters and a son-in-law, Loretta Cook and Janice Cook of Portageville and Peggy and Larry Lacey of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Lola Brown of Portageville; and 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at DeLisleFuneral Home in Portageville, where services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. DeWayne Roberts officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Alex Lacey, Larry Lacey, George Lance, Justin Cook, Michael McCaiq and Jelian Lerma.
