Velma Roberts

SIKESTON -- Velma Roberts, 85, died May 24, 2017, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.

Born Aug. 12, 1931, in Laforge, to the late Austin and Margaret Helms Dunn.

On Oct. 13, 1957, in Essex, she married Cecil C. Roberts, who preceded her in death on Feb.13, 1984.

Survivors include: four sons and one daughter-in-law, Duane Harris, Gary Dunn and Kenneth and Teresa Roberts of Sikeston and Kevin Roberts of Lamar; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Donna and Wayne Turpin and Earlene and Steve Gill of St. Louis and Shirley and Jerry Davis of Kimberling City; two brothers, Kenneth Dunn of Greenville, Ind., and Everette Dunn of Muncie, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Bizzell.

Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Rick Hensley, pastor of Abundant Life Family Church in Farmington, officiating. Burial will follow at Matthews Cemetery in Matthews.
