Frankie Grissom

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Jessie Franklin "Frankie" Grissom, 93, died Jan. 22, 2018, at her home in East Prairie.

Born June 13, 1924, in the state of Kentucky, daughter of the late John Samuel and Jessie Mae Gage Atkinson, she had been employed by Davis Lumber and Reeves Boomland. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include: three sons, Roland Grissom, Wesley Grissom and Mike Grissom of East Prairie; six daughters, Martha Aters, Ruth Christian, Debra Self and Penny Pearson of East Prairie, Linda Dillow of Scott City and Rhonda Ling of New Madrid; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Grissom; two brothers, Sye Atkinson and Audie Atkinson; and four sisters, Evelyn Atkinson, Martha Taylor, Alani Morgan and Margaret Redfering.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday with Mike Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
