ATLANTA -- Janet Marie "JJ" Jones, 58, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Sept. 23, 2016.
Born Nov.11, 1958, in Charleston, daughter of Phillip Turner Sr. of Charleston and the late Dorothy B. Johnson, she received her education in Charleston and was a former member of Ollie Grove Baptist Church of Wilson City, Mo. She later joined Floyd Chapel Baptist Church where she served on the Women's Ministry and Usher Board.
On Sept. 9, 1979, she married Michael A. Jones, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband and her father, survivors include: two sons, Michael Jones Jr. and Terrance Jones Sr. of Atlanta; two daughters and one son-in-law, Yalonda and Joseph Fredericks and Shaterica Jones of Atlanta; three brothers, Ronald Moore of Michigan, Dennis Moore of California and Phillip Turner Jr. of Charleston; eight sisters, Calestine Moore, Linda Retel, Regina Smith and Janice Coleman of Chicago, Reatta Riggens of Sikeston, Mo., Toni Ross-Trotter of Indiana, Ella Brewer of Charleston and Laura Craig of St. Louis; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at noon Saturday at Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston with E. C. Cochran Sr., pastor of Floyd Chapel Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
