Richard LaFerney

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- Richard Allen LaFerney, 71, died March 7, 2017, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 14, 1945, in Portageville, to the late Richard B. and Dorothy Marshall LaFerney, he worked as a police officer and a carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carol LaFerney.

Survivors include: one son and his fiancee, David LaFerney and Jamie of Bono, Ark; one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Michael Yocum of Jonesboro, Ark; three brothers, William (Billy) LaFerney of New Madrid, Dennis LaFerney of Lilbourn, and Chris LaFerney of Morley; three sisters, Rosemary Dooley of Lilbourn, Evelyn Nunez of Indiana and Debbie McCabe of Bertrand; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from noon until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The Rev. Larry Gammons will officiate.
