SIKESTON -- James R. "Ronnie" Templeton, age 60, of Sikeston, died July 20, 2017, at his home.
He was born April 29, 1957, in Sikeston, to the late James G. and Faye D. Holland Templeton. On Jan. 18, 2003, in Sikeston, he married Teresa D. Ward, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: four children, Craig R. Templeton and Amber Coffey, Laura R. and Brent Revelle, Nicole and Rodney Crosier, and Becki Collier and Daniel Beck, all of Sikeston; and nine grandchildren, Hunter B. Kennedy, Camden Revelle, Raegen Revelle, Ella Vinson, Kaden Coffey, Maddie-Claire Crosier, Collier Vinson, Colter Beck and Zander Revelle. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Ward and Bev Ward; and a special uncle and aunt, Jim and Ruthann Crest.
Ronnie was a lifetime resident of Sikeston. He recently retired after 39 years working for Liberty Utilities as a senior service technician. He also was a member of Union IBEW Local 1439. Ronnie had a passion for classic cars, owning many himself throughout the years. He loved to travel and was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. For a number of years he volunteered his time cooking for the Sikeston American Legion baseball organization as well as the Jaycee Little League football concession stands.
A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, he cherished the time he spent with his family. A true friend, in every sense of the word to so many. He will be missed more than words can express, but will be in our hearts and memories forever.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Ponder Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Bollinger, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, officiating.
Interment will be private.
