CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Lillian Elizabeth Marsac Godsey, 89, died July 19, 2017, at her home in Charleston. Born Dec. 16, 1927, in Caruthersville, daughter of the late Eric Earl "Buster" and Josie Thelma Blackburn Marsac, she lived in Caruthersville until moving to Portageville in 1963 and then to Charleston in 1965. She was employed at Brown Shoe Company in Caruthersville then following her move to Charleston she was employed in the kitchen at Hearnes Elementary for 25 years until her retirement...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Lillian Elizabeth Marsac Godsey, 89, died July 19, 2017, at her home in Charleston.

Born Dec. 16, 1927, in Caruthersville, daughter of the late Eric Earl "Buster" and Josie Thelma Blackburn Marsac, she lived in Caruthersville until moving to Portageville in 1963 and then to Charleston in 1965. She was employed at Brown Shoe Company in Caruthersville then following her move to Charleston she was employed in the kitchen at Hearnes Elementary for 25 years until her retirement.

In 1944 she married Jeff Daniel Fisher who preceded her in death. On Dec. 8, 1952, she married John David Godsey, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1998.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Vicki Fisher of Bertrand; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Kenneth Fisher Hartwick of Bertrand; one brother, Charles Wayne Marsac of Hot Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

One grandson, Keith Anderson Adams; two brothers, Earl Junior "Curley" Marsac and Wilbur Marion "Morris" Marsac; and one sister, Audrey Juanita June Marsac Pery, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Chance Maness, Joey Hayes, Charles Rhymer, Michael Maness, James Harold Pery, Wilbur Marion "Boodro" Marsac and William Adams.
