CHARLESTON, Mo. — Carroll David “Jake” Graham, 77, died April 17, 2018, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 11, 1941, at Charleston, son of the late Joseph Claud “Toots” Graham and Veda Mae Peevyhouse Graham, he had lived in Charleston his entire life and had been employed in construction work prior to going to work in the maintenance department at Noranda where he was employed for over 30 years. He was a member of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.
On Feb. 2, 1961, he married Jessie Ann Thurman, who preceded him in death Nov. 19, 2009.
Survivors include: one son, Michael Howard Meeks of Charleston; one daughter and son-in-law, Retha Ann and David Cohen of Charleston; six brothers, Ronnie Graham of Miner, Larry Graham of St. Peters, Steve Graham of St. Ann, Wayne Graham of Charleston, Jimmy Graham of Wyatt and Danny Graham of Scott City; three sisters, Peggy Thurman of Miner, Betty Keener of Charleston and Carla Groves of Benton; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Lee Graham and Marshall Dale Meeks; one daughter, Joyce Ellen Thurman; one brother, Stanley Ray Graham; two sisters, Bonnie McClendon and Debra Lynn Cohen; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church in Diehlstadt. DeWayne Kirkpatrick, pastor, officiated.
Burial followed in the Anniston Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Ty Meeks, Matthew Dorris, Michael Lee Meeks, David Earl Meeks, Josh Jones and Layla Moody.
