Carlyle wins top individual in soils evaluation competition
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Quentin Carlyle of the East Prairie FFA Chapter was named top individual in the soils evaluation career development event April 20 at the 90th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 181 participants from 48 teams in the competition. Carlyle’s advisers are Rylyn Small and Nick Nordwald.
Participants in the contest evaluate and analyze soil for characteristics critical to production capabilities.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in the learning process and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 25,375 members representing 343 chapters. The national organization has more than 653,000 members representing 8,568 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
