BERTRAND, Mo. – William Cox “Willie” Farquhar, 64, died June 1, 2018, at his home in Bertrand. Born Aug. 19, 1953, in East Prairie, son of the late Merell and Lynn Edith Cox Farquhar, he was employed as the owner/operator of Farquhar’s Detail Shop. He was a veteran of the United States Army and attended Wyatt Baptist Church.
On Nov. 1, 2003, in Charleston, he married Darla Morris; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Chad (Teresa) Farquhar and Jason Farquhar of East Prairie; one daughter, Delena (Josh) Hileman of East Prairie; three stepsons, Jessie Mercer of Bertrand, James (Jessica E.) Mercer of Bertrand and Justin (Jessica) Mercer of Sikeston; two stepdaughters, April Farquhar of Bertrand and Amy (Marc) Butler of Sikeston; two brothers, Frank Farquhar of East Prairie and Robert “Buckwheat” Farquhar of Sikeston; one sister, Lilly Mae Lewis of Cordova, Tenn.; and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Dean Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Mercer, James Mercer, Jessie Mercer, Marc Butler, Chris Caudle and Enis Roach.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons: Caden Hileman, Austin Mercer, Ashton Mercer, Gavin Mercer, Payton Mercer and Irish Mercer.
