Bob Donze

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Robert "Bob" Donze, age 78, passed away on Sept. 28, 2018, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born June 13, 1940, in Bonne Terre, Mo., son of the late Raymond and Dora Ritter Donze, he served in the United States Navy, where he played the clarinet for the naval band. He was a member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic church for over 30 years.

He taught band at New Madrid County Central until his retirement. After he retired, he enjoyed restoring and tuning pianos. He also enjoyed golfing and was a member of the SEMO Seniors in Sikeston.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Courtney Donze of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Mistee Donze of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Leo Donze of Sun City West, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Zachary Nowell of Poplar Bluff, Jason Donze of Biloxi, Miss., and Matthew Donze of Poplar Bluff,.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy O’Donnell Donze.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, from 10 a.m. until noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston followed by a funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic church in Sikeston with the Rev. David Dohogne officiating.

Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
