SIKESTON — George Crawford, 84, died Oct. 3, 2018, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 29, 1934, in East Prairie, son of the late James David and Saphrey Juanita Pruitt Crawford, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean War and was a line worker for Tetra Pak before retiring.

In September 1957, he married Betty Jean McGee; she preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 2012.

Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Darrell Brown of Cape Girardeau, Tammy and Steve Carlyle of Sikeston and Teressa and Robert Stewart of Jonesboro, Ark.; one brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Sharon Crawford of Kennett; two sisters, Linda Cole and Juanita Robison of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Steve Vester, pastor of Old Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
