L.T. Turley

SIKESTON — L.T. Turley, 80, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at his home in Sikeston.

Born April 10, 1938, in Tanner, son of the late Sherman and Verbel Lands Turley, L.T. was of the Pentecostal faith and worked as a Journeyman Pipefitter for Associated Natural Gas Company before retiring.

On Jan. 18, 1958, in Sikeston, he married Elizabeth (Buchanan) Turley; she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David and Songa Turley of Sikeston; four grandchildren, Josh and Lela Carmack, Eric Turley, Sarah Turley and Hannah Turley; and one great-grandson, Silas Carmack.

In addition to his parents, L.T. was preceded in death by two brothers, Lonnie Turley and Louis Turley; and four sisters, Laura Springs, Lola Miller, Lela Tate and Lorene Williams.

There will be memorial services held Friday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Liz Banks, pastor of Trinity Chapel, will officiate.
