SIKESTON — A Sikeston man faces felony charges after allegedly burglarizing a residence early Wednesday.
Ronald Joseph Young III, 25, is charged with felony first degree burglary and misdemeanor second degree property damage, according to online court records.
At 12:30 a.m. Wednesday officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 300 block of Sunset in reference to a disturbance report, according to Capt. Austin Henley with Sikeston DPS.
Upon arrival, the resident said a male subject — who was identified as Young — came to the residence looking for his girlfriend, Henley said.
“The girlfriend was not at the residence so the male began kicking the air conditioner unit and prying on the door. He got the door open and entered the residence. The resident was able to push him back outside and call the police,” Henley said.
Young fled and was later located around 12:55 a.m. and taken into custody.
Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety, and he’s not to have contact with the victim.
