David Sutton
EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — David Lee Sutton, 82, died Nov. 6, 2018, at his home in East Prairie.
Born May 7, 1936, in Dorena, son of the late Ray and Annie Mae Cole Sutton, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired towboat captain and member of Elm Street Baptist Church.
On Dec. 16, 1968, in Cairo, Ill., he married Linda Blumenberg, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David Lee and Leigh Ann Sutton Jr. of East Prairie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kara Shea and Anthony Moody of East Prairie and Tracey Harget and James White of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Richard Sutton and Donald Ray of East Prairie; one sister, Jeannie Dunnagan of South Haven, Miss.; and nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday with Jon Archie, pastor of Elm Street Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
