Herbert Chappell

SIKESTON — Herbert Wessley Chappell, 79,  a lifelong resident of the East Prairie and Sikeston areas, died Nov. 24, 2018, at his home in Sikeston. 

Born Feb. 14, 1939, in East Prairie, son of the late Noah and Lorene (Cork) Chappell, he was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ and a graduate of East Prairie High School and had been employed at Lewis Bakery. 

On Feb. 2, 1973, in East Prairie, he married Barbara Stanley, and she survives of the home. 

In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, five daughters, two brothers, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. 

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
