SIKESTON — The Sikeston R-6 School District Board of Education has secured the services of the Missouri School Board Association to assist in the search for a new superintendent to replace Tom Williams who is retiring June 30.

The MSBA consultant working with the Board is Dr. Jerry Waddle, longtime educator in Southeast Missouri and former faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University, according to a news release on behalf of Sikeston R-6 School Board President Matt Tanner.

“In an effort to seek input from the staff and the public, the consultant will be hosting three meetings on March 4 in the cafeteria at the Junior High School located at 510 Lindenwood,” the news release said.

The meetings will be held at the following times: 4 p.m. for faculty and support staff; 5 p.m. for administrators; and 6 p.m. for the public.

The employees and public will also be invited to complete an online survey that will be posted on the district’s website,

www.sikestonr6.org, beginning at 7 p.m. March 4 and closing at midnight March 11.

Williams, who has been the Sikeston R-6 superintendent since 2012 and has been with the Sikeston Public Schools since 1990, recently announced his retirement.
