SIKESTON — A Sikeston man faces charges after allegedly disturbing peace and displaying a pocket knife at a grocery store.

Dale Edward Wilder is charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor peace disturbance-first offense, according to online court records.

At 9:30 p.m. May 1, an officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to Food Giant, 945 E. Malone Ave. in Sikeston, in reference to a report of a disturbance with a weapon, according to DPS incident reports.

According to Capt. Austin Henley with Sikeston DPS, the complainant told police a man, who was later identified as Wilder, was in the store harassing female employees. During conversation, he removed a knife from his pocket and opened it. He allegedly moved around in a threatening manner.

Wilder was arrested. Bond was set at $20,000 surety or cash, and he is to have no contact with the victims or the business. He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday before Scott County Judge Robert Zachary Horack.
