Ken Lowery
CHAFFEE, Mo. — Shirl Roling “Ken” Lowery, 77, died Aug. 23, 2019, at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.
Born Sept. 18, 1941, in Leachville, Ark., son of the late Charlie Lowery and Eulah Patton Owens, he was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the 101st Airborne in the Vietnam War and of the Catholic belief. A Boy Scout leader for many years, he was a former member of the Teamsters Union and had been employed with Truck Transport in Cape Girardeau.
On July 29, 1967, in St. Louis, he married Linda Joyce Wooldridge, who survives of the home in Chaffee.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons, Dwayne Lowery (Julie) of Chaffee, Shawn Lowery (Nancy) of Benton, and Kenith Lowery (Donna) of Chaffee; one brother, Elbert Lowery of Southaven, Miss.; three sisters, Irene Morgan, Willie Mae Ross and Kathyrn Robinson; and 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Willis Owens; twin sons; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at noon Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with the Rev. Gene Hooker officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
