CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Holly Rehder officially announced on Monday her campaign to replace term-limited Sen. Wayne Wallingford to represent Southeast Missouri in the Missouri Senate.

In a new video, Rehder outlined her experiences living the American Dream: Growing up in poverty, needing to drop out of High School, getting her GED as a young mother, gaining a degree from Southeast Missouri State University and starting a small business with her husband.

“I grew up poor – we survived on welfare and food stamps. At 15, I had to quit school to help take care of my family,” said Rehder. “To make ends meet, I took whatever jobs I could find. I worked in a sewing factory in Cape during the day and fast food at night. I didn’t want the same cycle of poverty and dependence that I had known, I wanted the American Dream.”

Rehder has an A+ rating from the NRA and is staunchly prolife, supporting some of the nation’s toughest laws against abortions.  Rehder is also a supporter of President Donald J. Trump.

“I support the Trump Agenda and will promote it here in Southeast Missouri,” said Rehder. “Our strong economy is in good hands under his leadership.”

Rehder is seeking the Republican nomination for the 2020 election to state senate, including the counties of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, Scott and Wayne Counties.
